The main reason why America does not have enough quality leaders is because there is not the demand for them. The American people’s standards for leadership are not great enough, not high enough, and therefore the wrong people are rewarded with positions of leadership that they neither deserved nor are equipped for.
People get into politics for the wrong reasons:
- Many individuals who seek political positions at the highest levels are first attracted to the power and prestige of the position, rather than the responsibility and very hard work of correctly serving the people.
- Many people who seek political positions at the highest levels are simply not cut out to be leaders, or called to be leaders at higher levels. Not everyone who “wants” to be a political leader should be one. And when they push their way into these situations, they usually create chaos and make themselves and others less happy and well off.
